This is my opinion do not take it as gospel truth.

I have come to believe that Lust is the main passion that controls men. I have also come to realize that vainglory is the passion that controls women. When I speak of passions I speak of the eight principle passions which are Gluttony, Lust, Avarice, Wrath, Despondency, Sorrow, Vainglory, and Pride.

If the Devil can get you to indulge in one he can get you to indulge in the rest. If he gets you to over eat then you are at greater risk of falling for all the other passions. Its why a lot of Americans are like that, especially among the more rotund examples. It is usually that the fattest people are also the most lustful, the most stingy with their money, the quickest to anger, the most disconnected from realty, and the most saddened by where they are in life. The portly are more likely to seek approval and think very highly of themselves. I am not excluded from this if you know me then you know why.

On the Assassination of Charlie Kirk & the Murder of Iryna Zarutska

The conservative pundit Charlie Kirk has been assassinated. This is not good news. For two reasons. He had a wife and two kids. This is a tragedy because that is now a broken family. That is two kids who will never have a father. That is a daughter who will never walk down the aisle with her father. That is a wife who’ll never be consoled by her husband during times of stress. That is a son who’ll grow up without a role model. And yet the left celebrates his death because of his politics. Several on the left, not just ultra radicals and anarchists but seemingly more normie liberals are justifying it. All because of his politics. He was the moderate position. He never advocated violence, or anything other than a peaceful political environment. He was shot trying to foster some discussion and debate,

Walter Mondale is a Funny Name

I find the name Walter Mondale to be very funny. Walter Mondale was the vice president under Jimmy Carter, I don’t even know what the guy’s position is on anything I assume he was old guard democrat because that’s who everyone was then, but the name Walter Mondale is extremely funny to me.

It’s a certain level of mundane. Walter Mondale. Bob, a name which most people think is funny also sounds mundane, but Bob is boring, it lacks luster its stale. Sure it’s a boring name, its in with other mundane names like John or Frank. But these names also now lackluster. Then you have exotic names, Mercury Aries Ignatius: these names are exotic. They’re not boring or mundane but then there’s Walter Mondale its so mundane that it sounds out of place to me.

Two weeks after I was brought into the Orthodox church by baptism one of my friends suggested that that I read this book. This book has changed how I look at the world and how I go through my day to day life. Something I realized awhile ago was that almost all of the problems I had were because of my own bad choices and how I was approaching things. This is probably not the case for other people. The combination of this realization and the wisdom of Elder Thaddeus has helped me a lot. It has taken me a bit to understand fully but I think I’m closer to it after letting it sit for some time.
